Jeff Rickard has been in the residential mortgage business as a loan officer and in management for 19 years. He loves teaching, coaching and hearing the sound of his own voice………although listening is the key to success! The mortgage industry is now more difficult to navigate since the mortgage crisis and the introduction of so many new regulations that Jeff does his best to make all the programs, loan options and requests for your documentation as understandable as possible. Jeff teaches continuing education classes for realtors and many home buyer classes for clients. He enjoys faith, family, reading, shooting and golf.

I started in the real estate business in 1977 as a realtor in California and became a real estate broker in the state of Kansas, Oklahoma and in Colorado since 1984.
In 1985 I went to the mortgage industry where I am today. The mortgage industry has been very good to me, I started with a small broker Triad Mortgage, where I spent 6 months and moved on to Bank Western from 1986 to 1989. For the next 15 years I worked for Wells Fargo (formerly Norwest Mortgage) where I was the preferred lender for Oakwood Homes. This and other relationships enabled me to be an award winning lender for Wells Fargo. That success gave me the opportunity to become the Branch Manager for Countrywide Home Loans in their flagship start up branch in Cherry Creek from 2004 to 8-2005
I have seen a lot of interesting times and events in real estate and mortgages industries since 1977. I survived the real estate down turn in the early 80’s, including paying 18% on my own mortgage. I have seen run away price increases, watched FHA grow into and out of the number one product and most recently I have seen the transition from a conservative 30 year fixed loan to interest-only stated income ARM loans back to conservative highly documented 30 year fixed loans.
Since August 2005 Universal Lending: they are unique in that they offer an array of investors to choose from, which gives us a choice in programs, products and rates, a Colorado based company. We have in house underwriting, processing and closing which enhances customer satisfaction and a delivery system for HUD’s and Closing Documents that are superior to all I have been associated with.
